SOMERVILLE

A COMMUTER’S DELIGHT TO NEW YORK CITY

Downtown Somerville – Fun and Vibrant!

Somerville is the newest residential hot spot for so many reasons. Less than one mile away, the Borough’s Main Street is a fun and vibrant destination for shopping and dining for every taste.  Somerville is located at the center of New Jersey’s transportation network and has been called “Downtown Somerset County”.

Downtown has earned a great reputation over the past few years. Division Street is only open to pedestrian traffic and is the center for a vibrant experience of shopping and dining. The community and downtown area is full of restaurants like Wolfgangs’s Steakhouse, local shops, and coffee houses and is the main attraction for area residents for an evening out. Nearby Bridgewater Commons Mall, Somerville Shopping Center and Somerville Circle Shopping Center bristle with activity as well as a host of boutique, vintage and specialty shops sprinkled in the downtown area.

All major transportation routes pass through or near the Borough, including both New Jersey Transit, private buses, and NJT’s Raritan Valley train lines. Routes 28, 202 and 206, and National Route 22 form the northern boundary of the Borough while Interstate 287 parallels Route 22 and Interstate 78 is within 2 miles of the Borough. As the seat of government for Somerset County, Somerville is home to many county facilities, including the Court House and Administrative buildings, and the RWJ University Hospital at Somerset.
